I recently went to court for the third time to stand-by and testify on behalf of a woman that was beaten down
and gay bashed in the dark by an intoxicated retired violent crimes detective, named Gary Adkins, on November 12th, 2006.
It saddens me to see the police show "special courtesies" to the defendant and his family. The misdemeanor detective still
hasn't interviewed this man for his crimes. The Internal Affairs, the Prosecuting Attorney's Office and a Captain of HPD,
Robert Green, is full aware of the incident and it's so frustrating to know that those that are placed in well paying jobs
aren't doing their civil duties to help this woman in a speedy fashion. Ironically, while the assault was happening, Gary
Adkins' daughter, Lisa Marie Adkins-Padilla, which is employed by HPD as a 911 operator/dispatcher witnessed the entire assault.
Hasn't she sworn to protect and serve those that are in need of assistance??? If there was an assault going on, why didn't
she call 911? Two witnesses that saw the assault are afraid to speak up in the court of law in fear of retaliation and harassment
from the police and the Adkins family.
Think about it... Gary and Lisa are trained HPD professionals, yet Gary Adkins
pushed my friend down and hit her because he was frustrated because she kept rejecting his sexual advances towards her and
because she is in a relatationship with a woman. Lisa Marie Adkins Padilla turned the other cheek and let this serious crime
happen when she should have called the police. This is a total disgrace and therefore these people will be held accountable
and forced to defend themselves in a court of law.
"The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men
and women to do nothing". -Edmund Burke
Thank God a great attorney was found that is willing to go the extra mile
to seek justice for a woman that was continually sexually harassed, inflicted with pain, a victim of a hate crime and suffers
mental anguish.
I'm proud to know that what I'm doing is the right thing to do no matter what other people think.
We're leaving it up to God and our attorney.
